How to make Hokey Pokey

Method

Equipment:

• White sugar
• golden syrup
• baking soda
• table spoon 
• sauce pan
• cookie cuter
• baking paper
• Bunsen burner
• tripod

Instructions

1. get your equipment
2. wash your hands 
3. turn on the Bunsen burner
4. set up tripod
5. Put sauce pan on top of the tripod
6. Add 5 table spoons of sugar to the pot
7. add 2 table spoons of golden syrup 
8. mix it together and let boil for 2 minuets 
9. turn off the gas and add 1 table spoons baking soda 
10. Mix it so it doesn't burn 
11. scrape the hokey pokey on to the baking paper 
12. let it cool for at least 30sc or more 
13. press a cookie cutter into the hokey pokey

Method     

Equipment

• ginger
• cup 
• water (warm)
• yeast
• spoon 

Instructions

1.  Get your equipment 
2. put 1 table spoon of ginger in the cup 
3. Half fill the cup with water warm
4. Add 1 teaspoon of yeast
5. Mix it together 
6. Leave it to ferment six days 
7. After 1 week, taste it

Business and Enterprise kete

 For The last couple of weeks we have been doing arts kete. For the art kete we had to make products that we were going to sell,we had to make a shopping list so the teachers could know what we needed to make our stuff.

For the kete i had to be the production manger witch mean I have to make sure the products we are selling is in good quality. We had to budget with $20 since we had that type of budget we made candy cane reindeer,wreath and mice.I think that the business was successful because all of our products got sold.

I believe that we followed the HHS vales as we were being respectful to all our costumers when they came to buy our products we would pick up any rubbish if there was any near us.

Red Cabbage Indicator

 Aim: I want to find out how red cabbage cab tell if a liquid is an acid or a base

Instructions

1. Get all your equipment 
2. cut your cabbage into little pieces 
3. Put your cabbage in the hot water
4.   mix it around till the water turns a dark purple 
5. get 3 drops of the purple water in each tube 
6. add base and acid to your purple water 
7. and mix them together and make your own colours

Making sherbet

 Aim: I wont to find out how to make sherbet

Method:

Equipment:

• Raro
•  citric acid
• Baking soda
• Popsicle stick
• paper

instructions:

1. Wash your hands
2. Get your equipment
3. put the paper on the table 
4. Get a pile of the 3 powders
5. using your Popsicle stick mix some of each powder
6. taste the sherbet
7. if there is too much baking soda add more citric acid 
8. If there is too much citric acid add baking powder
9. To improve the flavor add more raro

Why did the sherbet foam on the paper but it did in my mouth 

Vinegar and citric acid are both a type of chemical called an acid. ... When you mix baking soda with either vinegar or citric acid some of the atoms recombine into carbon dioxide gas, and as the gas escapes the sherbet it makes it fizz and bubble up in your mouth.

eating hot chilli

 Aim: I want to found out how to get rid of burning  chilli off of my tongue.

2. Scoop some chilli onto your stick 
3. Start the timer and eat the chilli 
4. stop the timer at 4 minutes 
5. rate how hot your mouth is 
6. Do experiment again but drink water after 2 minutes

bacteria around our school

 Aim:

I want to find out what type of bacteria is around around our school.

• Agar plates
• Maker pen
  
• Tape

Instructions:

1. get your equipment
2. wash your hands 
3. Use a maker pen to write your name and location on the lid
4. wet the cue tip and swab the surface
5. gently swab the agar plate 
6. Tape around the edges 
7. put the agar in the incubator overnight 
8. observe the plate the next day
